Helmets and Shots

Kambri is growing and doing well!  She had her 2 month appointment today and she now weighs 10 pounds, 13 ounces!  She is in the 50th percentile for weight - I guess we can't complain about being average.  Her height is in the 80th percentile and her head is in the 25th percentile.  The doctor said she looks great!  The shots were no fun - I've never heard her cry like she cried when the nurse stuck those needles in her little legs - it was all around traumatic because Parker started crying too when they poked her.  I'm not sure if he was being empathetic or if he was concerned that Kambri would get more attention than him with her little sobs . . . either way, it was quite the doctor visit.

Parker's new favorite movie is Rudy.  We watched it the other night and he was mesmerized. We have since watched the last part a number of times (the football action parts don't come until the last part of the movie).  After we watched it the first time,  he found the football helmet that fits his teddy bear and was trying to put it on.  He was quite frustrated when, as you can see, it would not fit his head (his head, unlike Kambri's, is not in the 25th percentile).   Below you will see our attempts to make him a football helmet:

For me, this is quite creative . . . let's just say I'm not the most creative mom out there.  Even though his helmet looks kind of like a pioneer bonnet with some weird straps around his face, I'm just pleased that it was wearable!  He wore the bonnet/helmet around all day before it fell apart and its repair is currently on my list of things to do.

Finally, here is Kambri showing off one of her band-aids from her shots.  She was NOT happy when I took those things off!

That helmet is hilarious! SO CUTE! I love it...way to go Candace :) The worst part for Tyler and his shots were the band-aids coming off. It was quite the traumatic experience.

Nice hat!!! Watch out Martha Stewart! Shots stink. Tyson got some recently and he was not happy. Tacy, on the other hand, got 5 shots (for school) that day and did not cry. Your kids are adorable.

I hate taking babies for shots....I have to do it soon again....and, I find it cute/sad/funny that Parker cried too. And way to go on the helmet making! I'm impressed! You are a pro mom at having 2 kids! I am amazed =)

That is a pretty cool helmet. Brian thought it was interesting. I have to say that I am impressed though. I couldnt have come up with that. Maybe you can make them for all the kids at the family reunion. hee hee. Sorry about Kambri not liking her shots. That is never fun. See you soon!

Lukas had shots yesterday too for the first time and I think I cried harder than he did when I left1 I hate them. She is so cute and so petite.
Love the helmet.

Too cute! I can't believe she is already two months old! Time flies. I never would have thought of making a helmet, let alone make it so it looks like one. So, Kudos to you Candace. :)
