Surprise!! I'm updating my blog!

Well we've been M.I.A. for over a year now in the blogging world, but we just got some new family pictures so I thought I'd finally post some pictures of the kids with updates . . . I'm amazed that I actually remember how to post . . . luckily it isn't too difficult :)

We'll start with our sweet little Kambri . . . she just turned 2 in April and she still has us under her spell. She is talking up a storm and frequently surprises me with the things she says. She frequently starts her sentences with the word "actually." If I'm dressing her in yellow, for example, she'll say, "Actually, I want to wear pink." She loves to count and say her ABC's. If she is upset or angry it never lasts long . . . she loves being happy. My favorite time right now is when she wakes up in the morning or after a nap. She always finds me and says in her most excited voice, "Mommy, here I am! I awake!!" like she expects that I am just anxiously waiting for her to wake up . . . and although I do love nap time, I always am thrilled to see her. She loves to talk about how she will get married in the temple with a pink dress . . . and she insists that she will marry her grandpa. She loves to dance and twirl. She has Dave completely wrapped around her finger. Here are some of her favorite things:

favorite color: pink and only pink
favorite toy: still her stuffed pig
favorite food: bread . . . just plain whole wheat bread
favorite book: anything with Thomas the Train . . . she picked out the book "Thomas Breaks a Promise" to give Dave for his birthday
favorite song: any song from "Tangled"
favorite drink: milk . . . she would only have milk for every meal if I let her . . . we've started breaking things up with soy milk to add some variety
favorite time of day: nap time . . . she loves to take naps and frequently asks me if she can take her nap

We sure do love her!

Parker will turn 4 next month and we can't believe he is getting so grown up! He is excited to start a little neighborhood pre-school . . . he is a very social little boy. He loves to talk to anyone and everyone . . . we've had to have a few chats about talking to strangers, but we do love how people-loving he is. Be careful if he engages you in conversation . . . it's hard to break away!! :) He recently has become very interested in Star-Wars . . . it started with checking out a few books from the library and how he's an addict. He loves to play with his light sabers and begs me to watch the movies . . . the ones that I deem as not too scary :) He recently shared a talk in primary and worked hard to memorize it and was so confident when he gave it. We hope that he keeps his confidence as he grows older. He LOVES to tease, especially his mom and sister. And his new favorite game is to make rhymes. He'll make me say word after word after word as he comes up with rhymes . . . he loves to learn new things.

favorite color: blue
favorite toy: his basketball hoop in the basement . . . everyday he has "basketball camp" that he absolutely cannot miss
favorite food: anything edible . . . he eats all day . . . literally
favorite book: anything Star Wars
favorite song: "I'll make a Man out of You" from Mulan
favorite drink: water
favorite time of day: all day, every day . . . I think he's just happy to be alive

We are so grateful for our fun little boy!

Here's some of the two together . . . they have very different personalities but have a lot of fun together. They have their moments when they need some space from each other . . . but they are best little friends.

I love this one below . . . Kambri is already jealous of Parker's eye-lashes . . . the boys always get the longest ones.

And this one I think just captured their little personalities . . . the little hams.

Here we all are below in all our glory . . . yep, that is a real dog Dave is holding. I had a moment of weakness and now we have a dog. His name is Champ and Dave is in heaven. The kids love him and I . . . am trying to be a dog person. I'm the first to admit I'm not an animal lover, but it's been worth it to see the kids and Dave have so much fun with him. He is a cute little thing . . . and he'll be even cuter once he's house trained!!

Dave and I are doing well . . . Dave is still enjoying his work and we are so excited that he's moving to a new building at work and he'll get to take public transportation! He's excited to get some down time on the commute and I'm excited that I won't be a nervous wreck every time he's driving home on icy roads . . . I'll probably still be nervous, but maybe not a nervous wreck. We are enjoying life with our kids and just living the dream. We feel blessed to have such a fun little family. That's the end of our update . . . until next year . . . but hopefully sooner . . . no promises.

yay!! I was completely surprised to log onto my own blog and see that you had updated yours. It is so nice to finally read about what you have been up to. Your kids are just soooooooo darling. I love reading about their little personalities. I love that Kambri is such a little girl, talking up a storm (so true of our two). And Parker...wow...what a handsome dude (and yes..grant has longer lashes than our girls do). Isn't it funny how boys get so into star wars. Grant had never seen any of the movies when he became completely obsessed. He still IS obsessed and now we have more star Wars lego than I care to. Anyways..we miss you guys and are so glad to hear that all is well. Now i need to go update my own blog, hahah!!

Candace-it is so good to see how your family is growing. What a beautiful family you have! I best they would have fun going on vacation to Disneyland. And when you go, you can stop by and visit your favorite old (but young) roommate!Don't worry, I won't tell the rest of them about me being your favorite. Who knows, maybe I will come up to Utah first and stop by to say hi. Until then it is good to read about you.

I miss you coming to visit me every month - I can't believe how big your kids have gotten in the last 10 months. Kambri's hair is so long!
