The circus (and Scott) comes to town

My brother Scott and his wife Sidney came to visit this weekend!  They stayed three nights with us and it was so fun to have them. Their cute little guy, Van, is 2.5 weeks older than Josie....and about 2.5 times more heavy than her too!  I did get a picture of the babies together, but dang it, I didn't get any more pictures of the weekend. Both Scott and Sidney are so pleasant and easy going. It was so fun to catch up with them. We loved having them... And my girls were in heaven when Aunt Sidney painted their nails.

I got to tend Van when they went to the circus. He and Josie would sit and look at each other, then Van would open his mouth really big and try to kiss her. It was adorable. We were sad to see them go!

Since we've been gone....

Since we've been gone.....this cute baby, Josie Sarah, joined our family.  She was born last December and made it our best Christmas ever.  There is so much I would say about her if I had oodles of time, but I'll just say she has been such a sweet, special addition to our family.  When I was in the hospital, early the next morning after she was born, I came across this quote:

President Gordon B Hinkley once quoted E.T. Sullivan who said, " When God wants a great work done in the world or a great wrong righted, He goes about it in a very unusual way. He doesn't stir up his earthquakes or send forth his thunderbolts.  Instead, he has a helpless baby born...And then God waits. The greatest forces in the world are not the earthquakes and the thunderbolts. The greatest forces in the world are babies."

And there, in the hospital, I started crying like a baby.  It may have been the hormones, but I think it was the realization that Josie, just like so many babies born at this time, is so special.  I am certain God saved some of his most valiant spirits to come now. She is now 9 months old and I always say it, but she is pure sunshine.  She has a strong will that she manifests at times, but she is a happy, smiley, ray of sunshine in our home, and we just love her to pieces!
