This is Dave on his new porch glider. This porch glider is something Dave has wanted because he loves sitting outside in the evenings. It's his gift for finishing graduate school! Dave officially has his MBA from the University of Utah and I am so very amazed at not only the accomplishment, but how he accomplished it. While working full time at a very demanding job, he attended night school. On the days he had school, he would usually get up at 5:40 am and get home at 10:30 pm, only to go to bed and do it all over again the next day. He learned to organize his time like no one I've ever seen. I kid you not - he can get more done in an hour than I can do in a week! Not only did he figure out how to manage school, work, and his church calling, but he ALWAYS made time for Parker and me. He made sure we knew that we were his priority and we never felt like we were needlessly taking up his precious time. If you know Dave, you know that he always has an upbeat, energetic personality and that never wavered all throughout these past two years of school. He is a wonderful example to me and I'm so grateful for him. Parker and I are so proud of him!!
With that long overdue tribute to my husband, I can now post a few pictures of what we've been up to lately.
This was the night we went with family to the Scera outdoor theater in Orem and saw Footloose. It was so fun to be outside and Parker loved it . . . we don't know that he loved the musical, but we do know he loves being outside.
This is Melissa, me and Jenny (sisters-in-law) after we finished our 10K race on the 24th of July! It was a lot of fun to run and I was very happy with my time - if only I hadn't gotten so sick afterwards! Thanks Melissa and Jenny for running with me - I'm in for next year if you both are!
This was our overnight camping trip to Spruces and Parker's first experience camping. He was a little champ and even slept all night, but as I said before, he loves being outside.
A few weeks ago, I went in to check on Parker before I went to bed and this is what I found. I was intrigued at his ability to sleep in such an uncomfortable position! I called Dave in and amazingly, Parker kept sleeping through our laughing and picture taking. I did, however, move him to a more normal position before I left though!
This is Parker with his cousin Lukas. My sister Shauna, her family, and my mom stayed with us last week and Parker had great fun with Lukas. I think their favorite thing was playing with these cookie cutters and throwing them into this metal bowl - they liked the sound affects. Go figure . . . neither the cookie cutters nor the bowl are toys. I'm considering getting Parker a boring old pen for his birthday. You'd think it was Christmas whenever he gets his hands on one of those things. I'm always surprised at what his favorite things are!
The three pictures above are of Parker doing one of his favorite things: playing with the laundry. Of course we aren't surprised because laundry is not a toy!! He was having the time of his life crawling in the laundry bag and pulling out clothes. I'm hoping this translates into a love of doing laundry when he hits about eight years old . . . but I'm not keeping my fingers crossed
Last of all, this is Parker playing with a toy he actually likes. It's a little dinosaur land toy that my mom got him. I love this picture because Parker looks so cute, but it's a little bittersweet because he looks like a little boy! I don't know how much longer I can call him my baby. We have enjoyed this last year with him more than we ever imagined and look forward to many fun years ahead. We sure do love this guy!
That partially sums up our summer - look forward to more fun posts of what's been going on with us! But no promises on how soon I'll get to it!

That was so fun to read! Way to go, Dave! That's quite an accomplishment! I laughed so hard when I saw that picture of Parker in his crib...babies sleep in the weirdest positions. He sure is growin up and is SO cute!
It is great to hear that you have been keeping busy and having fun this summer! I was glad to see a new post and new pictures! 10K - wow! You are awesome!! I break a sweat thinking of it!
I love the picture of Parker sleeping..hahaha...I often find Eva sleeping on her face and wonder how she can possibly be getting enough oxygen.
Congrats on your 10K! I've always admired your running skills. :)
He does look like a little boy! Wow! But still a cute baby face :) That picture of him sleeping is CLASSIC. That is so funny! How do they do it? I bet you Bryan, Dave, Dan AND Jordan could be caught sleeping in that position themselves, I think the sleeping in weird places runs in the Snedaker boys...I can already see a lot of the same qualities with Bry going to school. I don't know how he does it! It's so hard for both of us, but we're glad to have you two as the example to look up to. It makes us realize that we WILL get through it! And that is something I have always told Bry I love about Dave...he is ALWAYS energetic and happy. I wish I was more like him! Thanks you guys for being such an inspiration!
What a cute little guy you have. It's hard to believe he is growing up so fast! We enjoyed seeing him this summer...and you and Dave too! Congrats on the 10K.
I was so excited to see your updated blog - i love reading about what is happening in your neck of the woods. Congrats Dave -what an accomplishment - you should be very proud. I love all the pictures of Parker - he is growing up so fast and i totally understand the bittersweetness of it all - just enjoy each moment for what it is!! We just got the gift you sent for Morgan today and can't thank you enough - she WILL still fit into it and we will defintiely be in need of those jammies!! Thanks again!!
Cute pictures and fond memories. Thanks for writing your thoughts, Candace. You have such a clever way about you in describing Parker and all of his cute milestones. We love being apart of it.
As for Parker's sleeping position... I can tell you that it DOES run in the Snedaker boys genes. WHAT are you going to do if he has Dave's sleep talking disease too????
wow, i'd begun to think you'd given up the blogging thing...=) Congradulations Dave! That's an amazing accomplishment. And you ran in a 10K-I'm always impressed with people who run in those-but I can't seem to personally get the inspiration to do it.
I love the pictures of Parker in the laundry...and I too wonder why we even bother buys toys, Lissy's favorite things to do are throw towels out of the cabinets & playing with my spaculas.
It's good to read about you, seems you are very happy-you deserve all the happiness in the world.
Congrats Dave on your MBA; it's quite the accomplishement any way you look at it!
Way to go Candace on your 10K! It's still amazing, even if you did get sick (that just means you worked hard!).
And we love the pics of Parker, and yes, household items are the best toys. You just need to get him something like a lawnmower!
