Livin' the Good Life

This past weekend was so fun - we traveled to my sister Tina's house in Nampa, ID to spend time with my entire family (minus Scott who is serving a mission in Denver). It was great to see everyone, but . . . I forgot my camera! So I'm at the mercy of my siblings to send me some pictures so I can post them. Stay tuned to hear about the great time we had!

For now, I thought I'd post a few pictures I took earlier today. Parker has become quite the pro at crawling and is finding his way into every cupboard, drawer, and space he can get to. Being a first time parent, nothing could have prepared me for him being into EVERYTHING! I mean, I had heard about this, but I never knew how crazy it would become! He is so curious and loves this freedom to go where he wants. Today I went grocery shopping and when I got home, I started bringing in the groceries. Meanwhile, Parker was frantically pulling out everything in the house he could get his hands on. My house was not super clean when I left, but by the time I got the groceries in, my previous mess combined with Parker's rampage looked like this:

As I stood back, looking at my home, I thought to myself, "My house never looked like this when we were childless!" Then I walked into the kitchen to be greeted by this . . .

. . . and I thought to myself, "I wouldn't trade this for anything." So I may spend my days chasing my child and cleaning up all sorts of messes, but I wouldn't have it any other way.

That's what we moms do best - chasing kids and cleaning up messes! I am so anal about picking up right after the kids are done with something and Chris keeps telling me to just leave it and only clean it once a day - i need to work on that and let them just be KIDS!! After all, they grow up way too fast. Cute pics of Parker - you can't resist that beautiful smile!

How funny! I love that kid! He's so cute, how can you be upset at that cute little face? Just be glad he isn't like Bryan was...I think I'm in for it!

You have heard people say that their heart swells with love, but it's an amazing feeling to have yourself, huh.

I couldn't agree with you more! The messes are so worth the rewards of being a mother! He really is such a cute little guy!

My house usually doesn't get a good cleaning unless I have someone coming over. Meantime, we live in clutter but you are so right...I wouldn't give it up for anything!!

Your little boy is sooo cute, Candace! What a smile!

Hey Candace
Your little guy is so cute. It is so fun to have blogs to see what friends are up to. Now that I have yours I see there are others that I can look up too. I am excited to catch up a little.

What a little love muffin! I think that's the first mess I've seen in your house-EVER! (Except for the messes my kids make when they're over for a visit...) Alyssa said to say hi to Pahkah!

Wow, he really on the move! That grin is so cute. I think God made kids so cute and gave them those smiles so that parents can't get too mad at them when they should be in trouble..at least that's how it works at my house.
