Is it really almost March??

I can't believe that February is almost over! It really has flown. I thought I'd post a few pictures of what we've been up to. This is a picture of Parker on Valentine's Day. Dave got up early to play basketball at the church like he does every Saturday. I slept in a little thinking what a great Valentine's gift Parker was giving me by letting me sleep in. In reality, Dave didn't go to play basketball and Parker didn't sleep in. Dave took Parker to the store and they got me some flowers. Parker came running in our bedroom to give me the flowers . . . so cute! It was a perfect Valentine's Day and I'm very grateful for my thoughtful husband. Here's a picture of him right after they got back to the house and before he came up to my bedroom:

Later that day, we met up with my sister Shauna for dinner at the Olive Garden and while at the restuarant, we ran into Dave's brother and wife . . . so we decided to all sit together and make it one big party for our Valentine's dinner. Unfortunately, I didn't bring my camara!

On President's Day, Dave had the day off, so that morning we took Parker to the church gym to play basketball. It was fun just to let him run around and play catch. Although he was frustrated that the hoops were up too high for him to make a basket, he kept trying and he loved running around and watching us shoot. Dave beat me in a game of Around the World (surprise, surprise) but I'll have you all know that once, a long time ago, I beat him in a very intense game of Horse. Even though we have played that game too many times to count, it feels good to know that I beat him ONCE and it makes all the other losses bearable . . . and I know that someday I will beat him again. Anyway, here are some pictures of our fun morning at the gym:

Last Friday, Dave and his brother Bryan took a day off of work to go skiing. I'm very glad that they got to go - Dave hasn't been for quite some time and he has been anxious to get on the slopes. Half the fun is going with his brothers so it was great that he got to go with Bryan. The yellow sign in the background of this picture says "CAUTION . . . EXPERTS ONLY." They took about five pictures in front of that sign, so I thought I'd post one on our blog for them:

Finally, here's another picture of Parker in bed that we took the other night. He had to take his two mini basketballs to bed with him and here he is sleeping with them by his face. I guess kids really are born with their likes and dislikes . . . before he was born I had a number of talks with Dave, trying to prepare him for the possibility that his son might not enjoy basketball or sports as much as Dave would like . . . I mean, what if he liked the piano or was more into reading books like his mom? But all my little speeches were for naught . . . as evidenced by this picture:

For a quick baby update, things have been going well. I am now 35 weeks along and we're getting anxious to meet our little girl. I had a Dr. appointment today and things looked good. At this point with Parker I had already dilated to 5 cm., so I went in preparing myself for similar news, but it looks like I'm at about 1 & 1/2 cm. so she's not quite ready to come yet! Things looked healthy. We are very grateful and hopeful that things will continue to go well. We've been getting her bedroom ready and we are feeling somewhat prepared but can you ever really be prepared?! Oh well, we are just so excited for this new adventure! We feel like Parker will be a very good big brother and I can't wait to see Dave with a little daughter! We'll keep you posted!

Maybe this means we can actually have that slumber party at the hospital! :) That's about where I was a week ago-1 cm. They decided to come down at the same time, maybe they are holding out to join the family at the same time! Looks like a fun month-I am going to have to steal your picture of the boys skiing. What goof balls! I'm glad they were able to go too...Bry cherishes the times he spends with his brothers. I think it's very therapeudic for him!

What fun holidays! I love your outing to the church, I may have to use that (one advantage of having keys).
I'm glad all is going well with your pregnancy. I can't wait to see the beautiful girl!
