Kambri Kay

Our little Kambri was born April 1st at 2:30 in the afternoon. She weighed 7 lbs. 2 oz., was 19 inches long, and has dark brown hair . . . and we think she is one of the two most adorable kids in the world. We are absolutely in love with her and feel so blessed to have this sweet girl in our home. The delivery went well and the recovery this time seems to be going a little better than with Parker. After a short bout with jaudice, Kambri is doing well. She has a sweet little cry, if you can even call it a cry. It's almost like a whimper . . . but maybe I'm just comparing it to the cries of Parker's very well developed 18 month old lungs! Anyway, here are some pictures of Kambri and what we've been up to. Enjoy!

Here we are right after Kambri was born . . . I'm smiling because I had an epidural . . . I am amazed by all you women who have babies without one. I'm not, however, ashamed to admit that I love epidurals.

Here is Kambri and myself with our doctor, Dr. Langer. We love Dr. Langer!

Here is Parker meeting his little sister for the first time . . . he is giving her a kiss.  He loves her and is always concerned about how she is doing.

Here is our fist family picture with Kambri.

Here we are with some visitors from Dave's family . . . we were so excited to show off our baby!

It's so fun to have a baby in pink!

For some reason, I couldn't get this picture to turn, but here is one with Kambri and you can see Parker's little hand in the corner.  He loves to hold her hand.

The two cutest kids in the world.

Dave has been so good to give Parker lots of attention when I haven't been able to.  Here they are playing with the new Tonka truck that Dave's parents brought for Parker - he has been loving this toy!

I don't like this picture, but here she is under the florescent lights that were used to treat her jaundice.  Thankfully, she only had to lie under the lights for a day and a half.  It was hard for us to just leave her under there when we wanted to be holding her so badly, but we're grateful that we were able to get it under control quickly.  She was such a good sport and hardly cried when we she had to lie there by herself.  She has such a sweet disposition.

Another sideways picture of Kambri . . . look for Parker's hand again in the corner!

Like I mentioned earlier, Parker is loving Kambri, but he is also having his moments of jealousy.  It is hard for him when he wants my attention and I'm feeding Kambri or busy with her in some other way.  I can see the confusion on his face, not quite understanding yet why he can't have all my attention.  We've had a couple of tantrums, but overall, he is doing well and we hope that he continues to adjust.

Dave and I keep talking about how amazing it is that these little babies are born with personalities and their own little spirits.  When Parker was born, we knew immediately that he was a sweet, but determined little guy.  As he has gotten a little older, we have seen example after of example of this determination and he has developed quite the sense of humor, always keeping us on our toes.  Kambri, on the other hand, has seemed a little more mellow than Parker.  Dave keeps calling Kambri a "little sweetheart" and I think that is the perfect description of her.  She is so calm and peaceful . . . she mostly has this content little look on her face.  We can't get enough of her and are excited for new adventures with our growing family!

Two cute kids! I'm so glad she is doing well and had a small amount of time under the lights! Babies need to be held! Not stuck under lights!!! I can't wait to see her. Katie and Jacob agree.

Oh Congratulations! I can't agree with you more about the miracle of parenthood. I am amazed at how a new spirit can manifest herself so quickly. I'm so excited for you and your family. It's just killing me being this far away from everyone. Enjoy your sweet baby!

Yeah- I am so happy to read your update and see that sweet little Kambri is here. She is SO beautiful and precious. Sorry she had such a rough start, but just hold her tons now.

Parker will adjust and it is awesome that Dave is giving him so much attention - that is how Grant survived those first few months but it is hard I know when they want their MOMMY. Love that picture of Dave pushing Parker in the truck - we used to do the exact same thing when Grant was younger...and now he's 4 - sniff, sniff!!

I sent Kambri a little package in the mail so watch for it!

CONGRADULATIONS! She is beautiful, she looks like parker-but girl version. How are you feeling? I'm coming to SL next week, I was hoping I could stop by and say Hi?

Congratulations! She is so sweet and beautiful. I'm sure you're loving this time. It's so precious because they grow up way too fast!

Your pictures bring back so many memories for me. We had to put Gideon in the blue suitcase for a couple of days. He wasn't too bothered by it, but it was hard on me.

I just love how Parker holds her hand. He's going to be a great big brother.

Take care!
