The Last Couple of Weeks

Here are some pictures of what we've been up to the last couple of weeks.  We have LOVED having little Kambri join our family and it has been fun to watch Parker adjust to a sibling.  He is doing well and has only had a few moments when he's been upset that I haven't been able to give him as much attention as he would like.   He loves to give her kisses and rub her fuzzy little head.  He is constantly bringing me her pacifier and he brings me bottles all the time, thinking she needs one.  The other day, Parker woke up way early and Dave went in to attempt to get him back to sleep.  Kambri made the tiniest little whimper and I heard Parker across the hall saying "baby? baby?"  He loves his sister and we're thankful he is so concerned about her. It's been a new adventure with two kids, but we are enjoying it.  Thanks to the movie Cars we are surviving . . . every morning one of the first things Parker does is ask to watch Cars.  I think I'm on the verge of having it memorized . . . let's just say I'm excited for warm weather this week and a chance to go outside!
Here is a sideways picture of Kambri looking very cute (In the past, I was able to turn my pictures with no problem but it's not working now for some reason.  If anyone has suggestions, let me know!)

I think Parker got a hold of the camera for this one, so I threw it in for fun.

Here is my Mom holding Kambri . . . I like this one because it gives you an idea of how big her eyes are.  When she is awake, she is always looking around with her big eyes.  She definitely got her dad's striking eyes (the reason I wrote "striking eyes" instead of "beautiful eyes" is because Dave will be reading this and he won't like it if I call his eyes beautiful) . . . we're still waiting to see if she got his long eyelashes!

Here are Parker and Kambri with my mom!  She spent a whole week with us when Kambri was born and it was great to have her here.  We're grateful she was able to come spend time with us and Parker was so sad to see her go . . . but probably not as sad as I was!

Here is Parker arranging his Easter eggs just after we colored them . . . I learned a great lesson the day we colored Easter eggs.  One year olds may just be too young to handle actual eggs . . . we only colored six of them and they were all broken within five minutes of when we got them decorated.  I guess I have so many fun memories of my family coloring Easter eggs that I just couldn't wait one more year for Parker to do it . . . oh well, you live and you learn.  He sure did enjoy those five minutes of Easter egg fun!  Luckily he got to have an Easter egg hunt the next day with his cousins, so it all worked out.

Sadly, this is the only picture I got of Kambri's first actual bath . . . I was so stressed because she was crying so hard that I just hurried and snapped a picture and then got her out of the tub as fast as I could.  She really only cries hard when she gets her diaper changed and when she gets a bath . . . but it tears my heart out!

Here is Parker pushing around the soccer ball he got from the Easter bunny.  He already had every ball imaginable . . . we just didn't have a soccer ball yet.  Every time we went to the store and he saw a soccer ball, he would get so excited.  So Dave and I had a chat with the Easter bunny so Parker could make his ball collection complete!

This is Kambri (the not so happy one) next to her cousin Hailey.  Hailey was born to Dave's brother Dan and wife Kathryn 13 hours after Kambri . . . Dave says that they are destined to be BFF's.  Hailey is a BEAUTIFUL baby and we are excited to have two little girls in the family born so close together.

Here I am with Melissa and Kathryn with our long awaited babies.  Melissa had Tyler three weeks early or he would have been born the same time as Hailey and Kambri!  We actually think all three of them will be BFF's . . . even though Tyler is a boy, he can still be a BF right? We have had so much fun expecting babies together and it was fun yesterday to get them all together for the first time.  We are expecting that all the family get-togethers will be quite busy from now on!

Cute baby. I am glad Parker is enjoying her. Soon they will be partners in crime...or at least messes!

New babies are so sweet! I'm glad you (and Parker) are adjusting...it can be hard! I learned two things with my preemie babies I so wish I knew with Ellie about baths! One is if you wrap them in a small receiving blanket (naked) and submerged them in the water with the blanket on and slowly take the blanket off as you wash them it provides them a more secure feeling and less screaming. Also, if she can hold a small washcloth they love to suck on a wet washcloth while getting a bath...weird, but these two things were the only way I could bathe Stockton for about 5 months without him screaming! Have fun with the little ones!!!

Thank you for sharing your fun moments! I love the pic that Parker took of himself (that really takes some talent!). I can't wait to get Addi together with Kambri. : ) And I have to agree, her eyes are striking (beautiful really).

- The only way I know to turn my pics is to turn them in the file on my computer, re-save it, and then download it to blogger -

I guess I've never noticed Skippy's striking eyes. I'll pay more attention if I ever see you guys again.
