A week at our house.....

I think the easiest way to capture all the eventfulness at our house this week will be to note a few memorable moments of each day:

Saturday:  Parker proudly mastered the art of putting gel in his own hair...he will no longer have anything to do with me helping him in this area.

Sunday:  Kambri started primary!  She couldn't have been more excited and she loves her new teacher. Parker also has a very fun new primary teacher and I, being a primary teacher of 7 year-olds , got a new class...they were angels.  It was a very successful day.

Monday:  The kids had their cousin Levi over for a playdate after they both got home from preschool.  They worked hard and completed a big puzzle without any help from me.  They were very happy with themselves:

Monday night:  Dave had quite a few people from work over for a ping pong tournament in our basement (it was intense....some even brought their own paddles....boys are competitive).  Prior to the ping pong event, I needed to change out of my sweats and get ready for company to start coming.  I told Kam that I was headed upstairs to get ready for the "party."  As I was changing, she came into my room and said, "Mom, I decided that I'm going to wear my Belle dress and a crown for the party."  I put the dress on her, then captured this picture when she promptly fell asleep on the couch (I love that her hands are cradling her face in true princess fashion):

Tuesday:  Parker and I went on a date....it was a preschool homework assignment and we had so much fun.  Dave stayed home with the girls and we headed to the library.  We go to the library fairly often, but I never go one-on-one with any of the kids...I may have to start doing that.  He specifically wanted a book about sharks and any other book that we walked past that looked interesting.  We got books on sharks, frogs, gorillas, the Lewis and Clark expedition and more.  He then insisted on a Barbie book and a Stawberry Shortcake DVD for Kam.  I love that he is always thinking of her.  Here we are on our date:

Tuesday while on our date:  Lyddi got sick and was throwing up while Parker and I were gone.  Dave lasted as long as he could without interrupting us, then finally called me and said he needed us to come home.  This pretty much sums up the rest of the week for our baby:

Wednesday:  The older kids both had preschool and Lyddi seemed much better, just tired.

Thursday Morning:  We headed to my in-law's house for Parker's tutoring session with Grandma.  Lyddi started throwing up again.....all over me.  We headed home.

Thursday Afternoon:  I finally got poor Lyddi to sleep and rested for a few minutes in my room while the other two watched a movie....or so I thought.  I came downstairs to find long brown hair spread all across the kitchen floor.  "Please," I thought, "please please please let that be Barbie hair."  My children have been guilty of giving a barbie a trim before.....but I could tell it wasn't Barbie hair.  Then a saw Kam smiling broadly and proudly holding her child scissors...and you guessed it, she cut her hair.  I immediately said, "No no no no no," and told her we'd have to cut her hair short.....she's been wanting Rapunzel hair.  She proceeded to have a meltdown.  Here's her handy-work (her face is priceless):

Her Aunt Jenny saved the day and came over to give her a haircut, which she loves:

It actually turned out cute, but I just loved doing fun things with her long hair....but it will grow back.  I just keep telling myself that.

2 AM Friday morning:  Kam throws up and proceeds to throw up 12 times....not fun.

6 AM Friday morning:  I start feeling sick.  Dave decides to work from home....and saves the day.  We all just hung out at home and Dave took care of kids while I stayed in bed....at least we avoided going out in the snowstorm.

Today, Saturday:  We all seem to be feeling better (knock on wood).

Can't wait to see what next week brings....so grateful that things weren't worse.
