Highlights

Sadly, I officially got out of the picture taking groove the last couple of weeks....so I thought I'd just jot down a few items of recent highlight.

*My parents are going on a mission....and they got their mission call.....to the Samoa Apia mission!!  As exciting as that is, it's even more exciting because it's the same mission my dad served when he was young.....so they are way beyond excited.  We are too.....but we sure will miss them!

*Lyddi has been sick, again.  This time she got a cold, which resulted in an ear infection, which resulted in some sleepless nights....but she is happy and healthy now.....and we are all happy and rested.    We're starting to see those adorable chubby cheeks return.  She is officially into the grabbing everything in sight phase.....try to eat dinner while she sits on your lap....I dare you.

*Parker finished up his basketball season and just LOVED it!  We were proud of how well he did....it is definitely a passion for him.  We just need to work on teaching him to keep his voice down on the sideline.  He loves to yell for his team and share every single emotion he is feeling to everyone within hearing range.....but we're pretty sure the other teams don't appreciate him booing when they do well.....we've been laying down the law about that little tendency.  I sure do love his spunk though.... we just have to channel it.  He loved having his dad as the coach and Dave really enjoyed coaching.  We are hoping it is something he can continue to do as Parker gets older......now I'm just in search of things to keep my energetic five year old busy.

*Parker has also been learning all the states in alphabetical order at preschool....his teacher has been teaching a song to help them......they have made it to the letter M....and we hear the song about 72 times per day.....therefore, I also have memorized all the states through M.....Kambri also has it down perfectly......and I'm pretty sure Lyddi and Champ will be singing it before too long......there is no escape.  I am very proud of him for working so hard on it.  I really hope he takes all his academic learning this seriously.....I think.

*Kambri has been perfecting her coloring skills.....and when I say perfecting, I mean she is a coloring perfectionist.  She colors SO SLOWLY and does is PERFECTLY......and she gets so upset if any color whatsoever goes out of the lines.  The other day I printed off a Sofia the First coloring page and after spending at least an hour on it, the purple crayon strayed ever so slightly off of Sofia's dress.....and you would have thought she'd lost her beloved stuffed pig.  She was heartbroken.  And it's my fault.... I'm pretty sure she gets the perfectionist/hard on yourself thing from me.   However, she picks and chooses her items to perfect.....just like I do.

That's about all I can come up with for now!  Just livin' the dream.  And we really are.

is it "Fifty Nifty United States?" All of my kids now know the fifty states in order thanks to that song. I remember learning it as a kid and found it on Youtube. My kids watched it over and over again and learned all the words. It's awesome to wow people with their knowledge of the states!

Bahahahahaha - my comment was going to be the same thing! The only reason that I know all 50 states is thanks to that song!

...Hawaii, IDAHO, Illinois, Indiana...
